Transfer Credit

If you have taken classes at another institution and would like these credits transferred to USF, hereÕs what you should do.

First, make sure that you've sent your most updated transcripts to USF. USF can only transfer classes that we have transcripts that show a final grade for each class. Classes with grades of "In Progress" cannot be transferred. Please send your transcripts via one of these methods:

Remember, we can only accept transfer classes that you've taken prior to enrolling in classes at the University. Once you start at USF, you need to get permission through the Permission to Enroll at Another Institution, or PEAI, process to take classes outside of USF.

Once your transcripts have been received, the Office of the University Registrar will evaluate them for transfer credit. If you've submitted your transcripts, and your credit is not yet reflected, or you feel that it was not correctly applied, you can submit the Transfer Credit Request form: https://myusf.usfca.edu/transfer-credit-request.  Please note that the Office of the University Registrar can only award core credit or add missing transferable courses to your degree evaluation. They cannot award credit for your major.

Since you may have completed some of your core and major requirements, it is important for you to review your transfer credit, both on the degree evaluation page on myUSF, and with an academic advisor to avoid repeating courses for which you have received prior credit.

If you are currently enrolled in another institution, please remember that these courses may not yet have been accepted by USF, and will not appear on your degree evaluation page. Make sure that you send up-to-date transcripts once your grades have been posted.
